Scholarship Cohort / 2026
The Andrew Hillman Scholarship for Entrepreneurs and the Andrew Hillman Grant for Biotech are endowed at the Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business and the SMU graduate research program. Recipients are selected by SMU faculty committees on the basis of academic standing, entrepreneurial commitment, and personal need.
The undergraduate scholarship supports Cox School of Business students with demonstrated entrepreneurial ambition. The 2026 cohort will be named by the SMU selection committee in the fall semester. Recipients to be announced.
The graduate research grant supports SMU researchers working at the intersection of biotechnology and translational medicine. The 2026 grant has been allocated to support thesis research. Award details will be posted following the SMU committee announcement.
Both endowments were established to support Dallas students with the same kind of entrepreneurial and scientific drive that produced thirty years of FDA-regulated healthcare ventures. The endowments are administered by the Southern Methodist University development office. Funds are released annually to the SMU selection committees.
The scholarship and grant are not gateways to Hillman Ventures or any operating entity. Recipients are not expected to work for any related company. The endowments exist to support the next generation of Dallas operators, irrespective of where their work eventually lands.
Nominations are received exclusively by the Southern Methodist University development office and selection committees. The endowment principal is not involved in selection. Inquire at the SMU development office.
